The
demand for property in Dubai
857 people move to Dubai everyday. Dubai’s population
reached 1.5 million last year, and it is expected to exceed
5 million by 2020.
Dubai also hosted 7 million tourists last year, with projections
for 10 million by 2010 and 15 million by 2015 helping Dubai
boast one of the highest hotel occupancy rates in the world.
World famous property in Dubai
Dubai’s contemporary vision has attracted some of the
most ambitious, innovative and elegant development projects
and real estate in the world and is home to the world’s
only 7-star hotel, the Burj Al-Arab, a favourite haunt of the
rich and famous.
Adding to Dubai’s prestigious landmark developments, The
Burj Dubai looks set to be the world’s tallest building,
with the Mall of Arabia and Dubai Mall expected to become two
of the largest shopping malls ever built.
Add to all this the incredible Palm Trilogy and the 300 man-made
islands that make up The World development and it’s no
surprise that the Emirate is widely recognised as a No1 holiday
destination.
Firmly positioning itself on the global stage, Dubai’s
international presence continues to expand through its annual
sporting events, such as: Dubai Rugby Sevens, Dubai Tennis Open,
Dubai Grand Prix and other tourist attractions such as Dubai
Shopping Festival, Dubai Summer Surprises and Dubai Film Festival.
Dubai Infrastructure
Dubai’s commitment to accommodate the population and holiday
boom is supported by its extensive investment in infrastructure.
The £3.35 billion metro train project, due for partial
completion in 2009, aims to alleviate traffic levels and support
the growing population and tourism.
Emirates airline is looking to expand its capacity by more than
20 percent in 2008-2009 and approximately 25 percent the following
year to accommodate the growth. |
